Feminist Humanities Project Introduction The Feminist Humanities Project (FHP) is dedicated to incorporating and advancing the historical study of women and gender in all areas of humanities teaching and research, not just at the University of Oregon, but in the community and even across the globe. Launched in the spring of 1997, FHP is a major research initiative of the Center for the Study of Women in Society (CSWS) at the University of Oregon that grew out of the successful collaborative efforts of the CSWS Research Interest Group, Reclaiming the Past. The main activities of this project are: Collaboration with the Wired Humanities Project in the development of digital resources for enhancing research and teaching The Virtual Mesoamerican Archive portal web site for advancing research and teaching about Mesoamerica, 1800 B.C.E. to 1800 C.E. The Mapas Project web site, a distance research environment for transcribing, translating, and analyzing colonial Mexican indigenous pictorial manuscripts The Gender in Early Mesoamerica Online Searchable Database Digital Teaching Units for Gender in History The Gender in History team-taught course (last taught in the fall of 2003).
